Goodbye Treasure Island ~ R.I.P.

For those of you who have been following, you may know that I've been having a hard time finding an affordable and safe place to live in San Francisco. I've moved four times in the last year!

On the other hand, my 425 sq/ft, Treasure Island creative space has remained constant since I moved to the Bay Area in May 2008. It's been such a wonderful place to be creative. From my studio window I could see the San Francisco skyline from the Bay Bridge to the Golden Gate. Many a day I sat knitting a sock as I watched sunlight glinting off the bay, or took a break from my work to witness a glorious sunset.

I'm speaking in the past tense because I will be giving up my beautiful Treasure Island studio for a live/work space in Oakland. I'm feeling sad about leaving the peace and beauty of my TI studio behind, but on the bright side I'm looking forward to having my home and my creative studio consolidated and all to myself. This is the first time in my adult life as an artist that I haven't lived with housemates.

So goodbye Treasure Island and hello Fruitvale! Stay tuned to see how my new 1300 sq/ft live/work space comes together.

In the meantime a few more pics of my dear Treasure Island studio, 2008-2011. R.I.P.
