What a great group of students! Eight plus me. Everyone is engaged and excited about the material. Today we brainstormed about improvisation, explored cultural and personal responses to making mistakes, and began working with randomness and decision making. The first half of today's assignment was to cut strips and sew them together randomly as they are drawn from a brown paper bag. The second half was to strip piece a segment of fabric by making spontaneous decisions. So far so good. I'll report on the results tomorrow.
It's really fun to be so intensely occupied with creative exchange from sun up to sun down - and it's only day one!
