Calling All Makers & Improvisers to the Brave Work of Belonging

Score For Improv Round Robin - IHBMQ.jpg

BravePatch brings together quilt makers from every walk of life, who embrace craft as a mode for embodied healing, to do the brave and joyful piecework of belonging through the liberating practice of improv patchwork, so that we can become better improvisers, flexible thinkers, wholehearted creators and restorative agents of change within our communities.

A few things you’ll see quickly that make BravePatch different:

  • We are solely focused on improv quilting and process, and how it shows up, informs and transforms our relationships and the way we operate in the world. BravePatch is the first conscious community EVER of quilt makers dedicated exclusively to sharing our improv creations, process, resources and support.

  • It’s Ours.  As we build this community together, we have some great features for creating valuable content, deeper conversations, and online or in-real-life events. Plus, by building this community off social media, you can have a more efficient and valuable experience with me and each other.

  • There are more ways for you to meet quilters near or far from across the globe, who share a passion for improv, creative living, and who are dedicated to healing and growing joyfully through the craft that they love. All this within a community that embraces and holds space for differences, and encourages authenticity. I can’t get this in free groups, or social media or on a website elsewhere, or even through local quilting guilds and associations.

  • We Can Bring Together Content and Community. This means I’m freed up to bring you new, fresh ideas and new practices that you can take into your daily life.

What You Will Discover In BravePatch

We are aiming to make your experience here awesome and valuable. We want you to receive five key things from BravePatch:

  • The joy of being seen and held in a culture of caring, learning, and mutual support that celebrates who you are and what you make. We are all here to nurture each other through every turn, surprise, obstacle, "mistake" and opportunity on our improv patchwork journeys. This is a non-competitive place to rest and rejoice in being yourself.  We will be building a new culture together side by side.

  • Access to feedback, community support, mind tools, process insights, and technical guidance through weekly open community improv sewing sessions that include a rotation of Q&A with Sherri Lynn, orientation with June, member profiles, and group brainstorming, on Zoom.

  • Swap outcomes, experiences, surprises, discoveries, satisfactions and challenges (not necessarily advice) around our shared mission to be better improvisers, flexible thinkers and restorative agents of change... as we make awesome quilts! I can't wait to see the image archive a year or even a month from now!

  • Energy for sustaining an improv practice that goes deeper and beyond the next quilt, so you can discover your preferences, harness emotional energy, free your voice, and ignite your agency, truth, and power.

  • A little inspiration, fun polls, thought-provoking conversations, and expert perspective each and every day to keep you fed!

How Can I Sign Up

Participate in one of my livestream workshops through the end of 2020 to be invited as a beta member of the community, and help shape and establish the culture of BravePatch.

In early 2021 an invitation will go out to all of my former in-person and livestream workshop participants. Soon after that we will open BravePatch up to the community of makers at large.
