I am currently based in Oakland, CA. Minimum billing requirements are based on the amount of travel time required ($700 local, $1600 half day travel, $2500 full day travel) to be determined on a case by case basis.
Hosts provide or reimburse door to door transportation, baggage fees, lodging, and meals on program dates. I prefer hotel or air b&b accommodations. With prior approval, I will consider being hosted in someone's home if these requirements can be met --guest quarters include comfortable bed in clutter free room, ensuite bathroom, wireless internet, smoke and pet odor free, my privacy and downtime ensured by host.
For cross country and international bookings, I will work with you to set up a regional tour with other shops or guilds in cities nearby. In that case all transportation costs would be split equally between hosts.
I use my own contract and require a $200 non-refundable contract fee at the time of signing that will be deducted from the program fee. After receiving a signed contract I will provide all publicity materials and images, and workshop supply lists.
For hosts who want to sell copies of The Improv Handbook For Modern Quilters to offset the cost of my visit and/or as a benefit to their members, I can arrange for special event wholesale pricing ($13.25/copy) and free shipping and return shipping of unsold books directly through Abrams, my publisher. This option is not available for local hosts. I will bring copies to sell for my own profit when traveling to an event by car.
Special rates for multi-day regional, national and international festivals and conferences are negotiable. Please contact me with a proposal.
