Internet/Reschedule Policy
Workshops will be provided through Zoom. Participants are responsible for their own Internet connection and ability to sign in to Zoom. If you are unable to connect live, you will have access to the recordings for one month following the live event.
In case the instructor’s internet service is disrupted by storms or other issues out of her control, there may be a ‘delay of workshop’ as follows:
If the workshop is interrupted or unable to start on time, the workshop may be postponed for up to two hours. Check your resource page on the half-hour as needed for an update.
If the workshop cannot continue within two hours, it will be rescheduled the following day at the same time as originally scheduled. Check your resource page for updates.
Tips for Zoom Meeting Attendees
PLEASE be ready to join the Zoom meeting 10 minutes prior to the start time so we can start the workshop promptly.
Update Zoom. We recommend updating to the most current version of Zoom to take advantage of the newest features.
Your best experience with access to all of Zoom’s features will be on a computer/laptop. Tablets and phones may be used but may limit your Zoom experience.
Mute your microphone - To help keep background noise to a minimum, make sure you mute your microphone when you are not speaking.
Be mindful of background noise - When your microphone is not muted, avoid activities that could create additional noise, such as running your sewing machine or playing music/tv.
Position your camera properly - If you choose to use a web camera, be sure it is in a stable position and focused at eye level, if possible. Doing so helps create a more direct sense of engagement with other participants. If a phone is your only option please prop it in a horizontal position.
Limit distractions - You can make it easier to focus on the meeting by turning off notifications, closing or minimizing running apps, and muting your smartphone.
Set up where you have the best internet connection. If you are using a wireless router and your connection is weak you may want to move to an area in your home where your connection is the strongest. Here are tips for improving your Zoom connection.
If your internet connection is weak, you may wish to turn off your image. This will lesson the bandwidth so you have better reception of incoming video.
